"We can lift ourselves, and others as well, when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts an attitude of gratitude. If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues" (Thomas S. Monson, "An Attitude of Gratitude," Ensign, May 1992, 54).

Sometimes I refuse to get out of the realm of negative thought. I have done this a lot lately.
Mind battles are the hardest battles in my opinion. Thoughts are hard to control.
But the coolest thing ever is that we have SO many things given to us to combat that. It starts from the simplest things. We have the Gospel, a family, friends, Jesus Christ, the Holy Ghost, our prophet, and the scriptures. It is all a matter of where I focus my life and therefore my thoughts.

I think that gratitude can change lives. It improves every moment and every situation.
