06 April 2012

I sit here at the computer, listening to Of Monsters and Men's new album, and I hear a small rustle behind me. I look back and nothing is there.
That's normal.
A few minutes later I hear someone whisper my name.
I look back and my 7 year old nephew is in the closet.
He said: "Hey, I just teleported here!"

Good jorb Matt and Kris, raisin' him right!

There is a first time for everything!

Like ice fishing. First time! I LOVED it. I think Dad did too; he wants to buy an auguer now. We drove hours out to Strawberry Resevoir, that looks just like a valley of snow to me. It is crazy being out on a lake on 2 feet of ice. We didn't catch any fish, but I read and had a wonderful nap on a tarp in the sun. It got so warm that we rode all the way home with the windows down. It was definitely one of the happiest days ever.

guilty pleasure, anyone?

One night over Christmas break, the adults in the family stayed up to play a game. It was one of those "guess-who-in-this-room-wrote-that" games. We had to write the theme song for our life, who we would be if we were a fictional character, and our guilty pleasure, all on seperate sheets of paper. We folded them up, put them in a cup, then had to write down who we thought put what. Whoever got the most right won! Even being the youngest, I definetely was good at this game.
Anyways, we were instructed that our answers could be serious or funny. For guilty pleasure, I put immersing my hand in a barrel of beans. I was being completely serious, but apparently everyone thought I was just trying to be funny. I really do love that feeling though. The beans are cold, and it is really calming feeling through them.
I came home after school the other day and there was this big big bowl of beans!
Without telling my mom (because she normally gets after me for getting in the beans), I washed my hands and stuck them in. AH. Guilty pleasure.
I sent a mass text out to my siblings and hopefully made them... its a good inside joke now. I also admitted it to my mom, and guess what?! She said I could put my hand in them all I want! I know this sounds so dumb, but it really made me happy.

2011 Utah State Fair

You should know these 3 tickets were used for the only ride I care about. The GRAVITRON. Erin introduced me to its joy last year. Seriously, you have to ride it. Go upside down. It rocks.

This is a funny story. I was taking a picture of this (chicken, hen?) pictured above, and my camera lens was kind of inside the cage. I was watching through the screen to wait for it to stop moving so I could get a good picture, but then all of the sudden it turned on me and made this face! This is the picture I took as a screamed and backed away and it came towards me. I would have reacted faster had I not been looking through the screen, but realizing it was darting toward me... it was startling to say the least.
Fried Oreos! I'll be honest, they don't measure up to fried twinkies at all.

Ah these smelled so good. Is it weird we loved the veggies?

What a great evening. Cory, Aubree, Cameron, Kirsten, Sam, and Megan. So fun.

sun it rises!

This is what I'll miss bout summer.
Hello to high school in the morning.
Pray I won't die.

Yellowstone: Part II

I'll be honesty, many hats were harmed in the making of this cool place. Like this one. Never to be worn again.....

Grand Prismatic Springs. My FAVORITE attraction. It is like a big lake that is a spring, and the steam is continually coming off of it and rising your body heat by many degrees. It is hot! The colors are gorgeous, too.

This was a hot spring that lay in a caldera.
The hot springs ran down in little waterfalls into the river.

Okay, so we have this thing about "woof" shirts. Shirts with wolves on them are just so.... great. We got obsessed by how funny it is. This all resulted in Erin and I buying matching woof shirts. I can't even say how great it is.
Old Faithful.

Dragon's Mouth. It roars like a dragon, literally, not figuratively.
As you can tell by Kirst, it stunk like rotten eggs like no one's business.
I love them! (I say that in my head with the retarded Julian Smith voice)
Yellowstone falls really was magical. Magic floated around you. And lots of old people and Asians.

Thanks fam :)

Yellowstone: Part I

Or, in other words, the G-FACT: Grant Family Annual Camping Trip. Although we did stay in a big-luxurious-hot-tub-included-cabin. Everyone in the family went except for Tyler and Kaitlyn. We missed them a lot. But it sure was busy and loud and hectic. I LOVED it.
I thought Yellowstone would be a LOT of this:
But it certainly was NOT. I think I drove 10 hours while I was up there, plus the many hours my parents drove. It was a lot of driving.
Liberty the dormant cone.
Lots of hot springs!
Myself, being all excited about being sprayed by the hot spring.

It's so blue! That means it's like the hottest it can be. Blue means that.

It is comforting to know that a great National Park like Yellowstone was signed into law by one of our relatives.
We got G-FACT shirts, and we all had our number on our back, determined by who came into the family.
The trunk was a great place to store the babies while we ate.
Thanks Kadie and Linda!!!
All the single ladies! We ended up taking a lot of pictures together... probably because we are the single ladies.
